Heavenly Ballet

I had the idea for this picture a long time ago, but wasn’t until now that I couldn’t take it. I remember when I was in ballet that I loved to be on pointes because, even though it sounds kind of weird, I didn’t feel pain at all, I was almost pretty comfortable. The pointes were like extensions of my feet. That’s why I wanted to represent them on the clouds, which I think is sort of ironic and contradictory.

Hacía tiempo que se me había ocurrido hacer esta fotografía, pero no la había podido hacer hasta ahora… Recuerdo que cuando hacía ballet me encantaba subirme a las puntas porque, aunque suene extraño, casi no sentía dolor, de hecho me sentía cómoda, eran como extensiones de mis pies. Por esa razón quería representarlas sobre las nubes, de forma irónicamente contradictoria.
